April 2024 Ministry Update

We pray this newsletter finds you all doing well. Thank you for taking the time to read what God is doing in Nicaragua.

We were blessed again to be in the US over Christmas and we so enjoyed our time with family. We also were blessed with two opportunities to share about ministry. We were hosted by friends at Wings of Eagles Ranch, A Center for Hope in Concord,NC. (This is an amazing nonprofit that is a great place to check out and serve in.) and also by my sister-in- law’s Presbyterian Women’s Circle. Both places were so welcoming and such a blessing.

Walk Thru the Bible Paster Conference Matagalpa

Eric had the opportunity to help Brenda Rose with a Pastor Conference in Matagalpa Feb. 26 - Feb. 28. Dr. Alejandro Oviedo, the Central American Director for Caminata Bíblica (Walk Thru The Bible) taught Chiseled - Becoming The Masterpiece God Created You To Be ( centered on the life of Peter) and Catalyst ( centered on the life and ministry of Barnabus). The pastors were overflowing with joy, not in just what God was teaching them, but also in the vision God was giving them to be His vessels to be catalysts to console, comfort, praise, counsel, correct, and confront. God is raising up strong, mature, bold followers to serve and develop mature and bold followers to live for His glory and exalt His name all across the country!

Mark Caskey Bible Institute

The 2024 year began on March 9th. Eric is teaching Fundamentals of the Faith (Believe by Randy Frazee to the 1st level (105 students), Evangelism to the 3rd level (18 students), and Biblical Counseling- The Exchanged Life ( Grace Fellowship International) to the 4th level (15 students). What a blessing to be able to do what God has called us here to do to such a large audience! I (Wendy) am again helping with the attendance and serving coffee and bread during breaks. We love the relationships we are building with these students!

Bible Studies and Discipleship

These ministries continue to meet weekly. The Sunday group is going through the study “What Does Jesus Want Us To Do - The 4 Calls In Every Christian Life. The Monday group in Solingalpa and the Friday Discipleship group are both studying David Platt’s Faith Foundations. Also, several of the members of the Solingalpa Bible Study are attending the Bible Institute this year. It is so exciting watching them grow in their knowledge of and love for God’s Word!

Support Fundraising Update

We have followed and believed God for His purpose, leading and provision for His ministry through us in service to and with the churches, pastors, families and people He has given us in Nicaragua. He has blessed us in so many ways during these 12 years and we love what He has invited us to do for His glory and their good!

Each of you are a significant part of His ministry in partnering with us by prayer, financial giving and participation! We are so thankful for your obedience and commitment to His call for each of you! We love you, pray for you and are eternally thankful for you!

We are happy to say that our monthly Missionary/Ministry Support continues to increase and that we have received more generous one-time gifts. We praise God for His provision! This additional giving brings our monthly support need down to $365 with a continued need to receive one-time gifts to complete the replenishment of our account for sustainable ministry.

As we continue to pray for God’s provision, we are asking for current partnering churches and individuals to “promote” the need and new churches and individuals to partner with us both with one-time gifts to replenish our account and also commitments of monthly giving to meet the additional $365 monthly need.

Thank you for the very important role you play in these blessings. We excitedly wait to see who God will bring alongside to partner with us in His ministry to the people of Nicaragua.

Prayer Requests

* We are continuing to ask you to pray with us for our residency renewal. We are currently waiting for Missionary Ventures International non-profit documents to be renewed by the Nicaraguan government. When this happens we can start our renewel process which will require all documents to be current at the same time. We are also praying for favor because we are now overdue. We know God is in the details and are trusting Him and His timing.

* We are continuing to pray for additional financial provision for our personal support and for ministry as God continues to lead us.
