We pray this newsletter finds you and your family well. Ministry during this time looks different but God is so faithful to continue to provide opportunities for us to share His hope and encouragement to others. We cannot thank you enough for your continued prayers and support during this time of uncertainty. We do know God is still in control. It has meant a lot to us to have so many of you reach out and check on us.
A New Way
We are praising God for technology! Our ministry is one of relationships and it has been important for us to figure out a way to stay connected with the people God has placed in our path. We started using WhatsApp last year not realizing the importance it would play in ministry these last 2 months. We have been able to share weekly Spanish sermons from our WCC Missions Pastor David Bogran, weekly sermons in English for our English speaking friends, and other devotions and resources in both Spanish and English. We've even been able to call, audio message and even video chat with friends in other communities. This video picture shows our sweet friend Blanca in Solingalpa blowing us a kiss.
Media Ministry
During this last month we researched the 9 Marks website and identified 31 free PDF resources in Spanish. We were able to download these resources and send them through WhatsApp to each pastor/community with which we are currently working. They will be using information from these resources to teach in their churches. Also, we learned about the new Christian series project The Chosen about the life of Jesus. This series is being produced in multiple languages for viewing throughout the world. We were able to provide information about this to pastors, leaders, and friends with directions on how to download the Chosen App. They are excited about this opportunity!
Our Neighbors
Just like many of you before March and April we were away from our home most of the time. We live in very close quarters with our neighbors so being home more has provided many sweet opportunities to interact with each other. We've been able to share extra food and have been blessed with Nicaraguan treats in return. God blessed us when we moved here with neighbors who have taken us in as family and we will never take that for granted. Our friend who lives next door made us masks to keep us safe and a sweet friend dropped by with fruits and vegetables because he didn't think it was safe for us to go to the market. We are blessed!
Staying Connected with Family and Friends
We have seen so many people take advantage of connecting through the internet. We have loved seeing our family all together and have had the privilege of joining in on Bill and Renee's West Cabarrus small group. This has definitely been an advantage for us!
