Happy New Year! At least we pray that it is! What crazy times we are living in! It is such comfort to know we serve a sovereign God and can trust His plan. We know 2020 was hard on a lot of you and your families. We cannot thank you enough for your continued support of the ministry God has established in Nicaragua. He continues to provide opportunities and open doors to teach His Word and make disciples. We will continue to follow where He leads.
November and December
Starting mid November we had the privilege to work with Samaritan's Purse as seasonal employees for Operation Christmas Child. Working with this ministry provided us funds for the additional expenses created by being in the U.S. an extended period of time and also allowed us the opportunity to serve with some great people for a worthy cause.
During the middle of December we both tested positive for COVID. Eric had a worse case than me, but we both fared better than many and have thankfully both fully recovered. This did stop us from spending Christmas with all of our family. We are still eagerly waiting for the time we can all be together.
Resources
We have been able to use this extended time in the states to stock back up on resources. Eric was able to take them to Nicaragua on his flight last week.
Back to Nicaragua!
Eric was able to return to Nicaragua on January 14th. Getting there was a little more complicated with the Covid test regulations, but God was in all the travel details. Eric will return to the US on Feb.4th so we can both be here for the birth of our first grandchild. You can imagine how excited we are!!! Our plan is to both return to Nicaragua in March.
We have been so blessed to have ministry continue remotely but Eric is very excited to get back to some face-to-face time (while continuing to be careful) with the people we have been called to serve and serve with.
Residency
Last year the Nicaraguan government made changes in the country that affected our residency renewal in September. We need to have our residency to be able to live and minister in the country. We believe God has recently answered our prayers and provided a way for us to renew. We are in the process of pursuing this option and hope to be able to submit our documents in March. We ask for your continued prayers for this process and will update you soon on our progress. Thank you again for all your continued prayers and support.
