March/April 2022 Ministry Update

It is hard to believe we just celebrated 10 years of living in Nicaragua! We have learned what it is to really know He is enough and that we can trust Him with the details of our life and the lives of those we love. That lesson alone has been priceless!

School Uniforms for Santa Emilia

Pastor Cesar and Blanca of Iglesea Bautista Mahanaim in the community of Santa Emilia continue to use resources we were able to provide to faithfully disciple over 30 children in their church. We were thankful this year to be able to continue to provide uniforms and school supplies for some of these children. It is a privilege to be able to partner with people with such servant’s hearts.

Smokeless Stoves Deliveries

Thanks to Healthy Neighbors International we were able to have 35 smokeless stoves delivered to the community of San Dionisio and 15 smokeless stoves to the community of Solingalpa. They were purchased by HNI from the Avana Ecocina Factory out of Esteli, Nicaragua. What a blessing for these families to have a healthier, more efficient way to cook! Thank you HNI!

Oximeters from Healthy Neighbors International

We continue to enjoy a special relationship with Doctora Franco. She has been our gatekeeper doctor here in Matagalpa since the medical brigade started coming back in 2014, providing and coordinating ongoing care for selected follow-up patients. Healthy Neighbors International makes this possible by their continued financial support for medicines, medical equipment donations, and advisory council. Doctora Franco was really excited to receive 15 Oximeters from Healthy Neighbors International! We are so thankful for HNI and Doctora Franco!

Study Bibles and Other Resources

We have been blessed this year with donations for ministry that allowed us to purchase resources while we were in the U.S. We’ve had the opportunity and privilege to be able to pass some of these out since we returned to Nicaragua. We love watching how God provides!

Teaching at the Bible Institute

Eric continues to teach every other Saturday at the Bible Institute with Bryan Jacksel Rodriguez as his interpreter. This is a great opportunity to teach pastors and church leaders in a formal setting. He and Bryan are both loving this opportunity. They get together and review the material for two hours the day before each class. This gives Bryan the ability to clearly understand the content of the lesson prior to interpreting in class. Bryan has been a part of our Sunday Discipleship group for the last 4 years. It has been exciting to watch him grow in his knowledge of English, but even more exciting to watch him grow in his knowledge of and relationship with the Lord!

Family

We love our friends who are family in Nicaragua and the ministry God has called us to. It is still really hard not to live close to our children. We feel so very blessed with the relationship we have with each of them and treasure the times we do have together. This past March we welcomed sweet little Ben to our family. We are blessed!

Ongoing Residency Prayer Request

We have been trying to renew our residency for the past year and a half. Through this whole process, we have been trusting God and His timing. We have once again started the process, getting all the required forms ready to turn in to Immigration. Please join us in prayer that this time we will be successful. We are trusting God in the details!
