We want to thank you for taking the time to read our newsletter and get updated on how God is working here in Nicaragua. As the conditions in the country continue to deteriorate during the pandemic and we self-quarantine, God continues to provide wonderful opportunities for ministry. We make regular calls and video chats and also send out daily devotions and weekly sermons. As we continue to call and encourage during this difficult time, the responses we have been getting back from these have been really encouraging to us. Each day it is so sweet to receive messages and calls as a result of these ministry touches. We pray daily for God to give us His eyes to see how and where we can minister during this time of "new normal".
Community of Santa Emilia
We have been partnering with Pastor Cesar for the last 5 years. He loves the Lord and has such a heart for the people in his church and community. Life is not easy for the people in Santa Emilia on a normal day. When you add the pandemic it is all they can do to survive. God laid it on our hearts that we were to provide one month's worth of food for the 29 households (approximately 150 people) that attend Iglesia Bautista Mahanaim, Pastor Cesar's church. We were not sure how to logistically meet this need. In less than 24 hours God provided a place to buy the food (2500 pounds), a way to deliver it to the church in Santa Emilia (Carlos Castillo), and church members to unload the truck and divide the food among the families. Pastor Cesar informed us that night that the families returned to the church to praise God for answered prayer. God is just so good!!! None of this would have been possible without the support, prayerfully and financially, from our partners in the U.S. So thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping make this happen!
Healthy Neighbors International
We continue partnering with this group of doctors, nurses and individuals dedicated to making a difference medically in the communities where we minister in Nicaragua. They have been faithful to send teams each year sine 2014. In addition to sending teams they provide the following:
1) funds for us to purchase and deliver monthly medications to followup patients
2) virtual consults to patients in coordination with community clinics
3) funds for patients to travel to Managua for medical care
4) necessary resources for Dr. Franco, the in country doctor who has committed to be our gatekeeper for all of these patients
We continue to be in awe of how God not only guides us in meeting the spiritual needs of those He places in our path but also provides others He has gifted to meet their physical needs. What a blessing HNI continues to be and we love how He has placed them in our lives.
