We pray this newsletter finds you and yours well. It is always exciting to share with you all that God is doing in Nicaragua. Eric returned in January after a sweet time over Christmas with our family and hit the ground running! I (Wendy) plan to return the first of April after celebrating the first birthday of our newest grandson. It has been such a blessing to be able to spend a little extra time with our family.
Our Focus and Need
In answering our prayers regarding HIS “NEXT” for the mission ministry here in Nicaragua, God is leading us to focus pastors, leaders, disciples and anyone else He places in our path on “the revealed Will of God” and center on the command of Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20: And Jesus came and said to them, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”
Not only has God given us His clear purpose going forward, He has also been placing the people in our path and bringing them to us. He has now connected us with more than 22 pastors, 16 communities, The Bible Institute and the director of Vida Joven(Young Life) for the northern half of Nicaragua representing 570 club leaders. They are all eager to train disciples in the example of Jesus, prepare them in methods of evangelism to be active and confident, empower them for Biblical counseling and onboard new believers in what they believe, how to live it and what will manifest in their life. God is preparing the harvest and He is also preparing the workers. We need those that He is calling to provide the support for the resources and training to send them out.
How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” Romans 10:14-15
They are eager for the resources and training to begin this process and they are praying for partners in the U.S. for the provision.
The need is $30,000.00. Please help us get the word out. We are seeking people to respond by taking up $50, $100, $200, $500 and $1000 blocks to progress toward this goal. Please pray and respond as you are led by the Lord by going to the bottom of this newsletter and sending your gift as directed. God bless!
Community of Santa Emilia
For the past 4 years, through a designated donation, we have been able to provide school uniforms and school supplies for some of the children in Pastor Cesar’s church, Iglesea Bautista Mahanaim. It continues to be such a privilege to partner with Pastor Cesar and his wife, Blanca.
Friday night Discipleship
We feel privileged to get to do all we do, but this time, in particular, has just turned into something very special to us. These young men all faithfully attend our Sunday Bible Study, but in addition, have chosen to come to our home every Friday night to go deeper into God’s Word. We are watching firsthand God’s Word transform their lives. They have each blessed our lives tremendously and we will forever be grateful for this opportunity.
Bible Institute
The new school year started on March 5th and Eric is really excited to be teaching 3 courses. He is teaching Fundamentals of the Faith from the book Believe to the 1st year students, The Attributes of God to the 2nd year students, and Evangelism to the students in the 3rd year. We appreciate this opportunity to partner with Farrell Burton and The Hope Project International. These courses align with what God has been revealing to us this past year and they place us in front of more pastors and leaders. Bryan Jacksel Rodriguez is translating for him again this year and this is a great opportunity for him as well.
